Mid-Autumn Festival

A couple of weeks ago we were invited to celebrate the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival with our friends John and Sharon and some of their friends as well. The boys got to try lots of new food, and even found a few new favorites. Among them lotus root, and eggplant.

They enjoyed some of their regular favorites as well - like carrots and corn. Ryan was giving me the evil eye for taking pictures while he was eating. Connor was too busy checking out the culinary delights to pay me any attention. :)

The boys had a great time playing with the other kids as well. So many new toys to play with. As usual Ryan had a blast playing with the ride on or in cars, while Connor thoroughly enjoyed the book pile.

The boys were having so much fun that they refused to nap during nap time and quite vocally protested while we were trying to enjoy our lunch. You guys should be proud of me - I tried a little bit of everything. I have to say I agreed with the boys - the lotus root was pretty tasty and the eggplant wasn't too bad either. Sharon really put together quite a feast and it was all delicious.
